Welcome to our website

Beaver chewing wood clipart This is the official website for the 2nd Stornoway Beaver Scout Colony. Beaver Scouts is the youngest section of Scouting and is currently available to boys and girls aged between 6 and 8 years old.

The website will provide information for prospective new members and their parents as well as acting as a communication portal for our current members and their parents via our password protected area.

Please follow the links on the left hand side of the screen to find out more. You can now raise money for 2nd Stornoway Beaver Scouts simply by shopping on the Internet at your favourite online stores. First of all just go to www.easyfundraising.org.uk/2ndsbs and register as a user for free (you just need to give your name, email address and a password of your choice).

After that simply click on the logos on the easyfundraising.org.uk web site to access Amazon, NEXT, M&S, HMV, Debenhams, and many more online stores.

Each time you make a purchase with these retailers, they will make a donation to the Colony (at no cost to you). Many of the retailers also offer discounts to you the customer when you buy through easyfundraising.org.uk

Just remember each time you are going on a shopping spree, please visit www.easyfundraising.org.uk/2ndsbs to log in to your account and then click on the shop logos provided (that's how they know where to send their donations).

Help us to raise much needed funds for the Colony the easy way

The Easy Fundraising website links into thousands of on-line shops and suppliers, all of whom will make a donation to the Stornoway Beaver Scout Colony if you access their websites via Easy Fundraising. It doesn't cost you anthing extra on your purchase as it is the shops and suppliers who make the donations.

Signing up couldn't be easier. Visit the website by clicking on the link above. Register your details with them and select "Stornoway Beavers" as the organisation you wish to support. Then everytime you want to buy something on-line whether it be your weekly shop or renewing your car insurance, access the suppliers sites via the Easy Fundraising website and the Unit will get some money. Some companies make a donation as a flat fee or as a percentage of the value of the purchase (upto 15%). For example if you get your weekly shop from Tesco On-line they will donate £2.50 (that's £130 a year for nothing!) or renewing your Car Insurance on-line can generate a flat fee of between £30 and £50.

Please circulate this as widely as possible to friends, family and work colleagues. Remember it doesn't cost you anything to do this but means a lot to our Beaver Scouts.

A very big well done to all the Stornoway Beavers who raised this amount for the Wallace and Gromit Childrens Foundation during our end of term Tea Party in December. Big pat on the back (and a cup of tea) to all of you!

Beavers visit M G Alba

As part of their Scottish Beaver Scout Challenge Stornoway Beavers went for a visit to the M G Alba studios in Stornoway. The studios provide the continuity and promotions for the BBC Alba channel. Ivor MacKenzie from M G Alba gave the Beavers a great tour round and allowed them to alter the sound of a promo in the dub suite and go for a virtual rollercoaster ride using the studio blue screen.

The Leaders at Stornoway Beavers would like to thank Ivor and the staff at M G Alba for a fantastic look round.

Remembrance Day Service

Well done to Stephen, Connor, Adam, Leon, Ryan and Duncan who represented Stornoway Beavers alongside 80 of the Western Isles Scout Family at the Remembrance Day Service at Martins Memorial Church.
